#RAW1000
RAW 1000 is in the books and I liked it….
The DX reunion was without a doubt my highlight as I have
spent a lot of time with Road Dogg, Billy Gunn, and X-Pac over the last several
years. Watching BG and Kip get their moment on the big stage was not only
beautiful but well deserved. As most of you know both Brian and Kip have had a successful
run staying sober for the past two years, and seeing them on RAW and get that reaction
gave me goose bumps and a tear in my eye.
RAW 1000 may not have done much to further story lines but
who wanted to really see that. The fans wanted a celebration and that is
exactly what they got. Mean Gene
Okerlund, Road Warrior Animal, Rikishi, Roddy Piper, Hacksaw Duggan, Sgt. Slaughter,
Doink (all of which have been on a Blizzard Brawl event), Sid, Vader, Lita, Mae
Young, Slick, Stephanie McMahon, The Undertaker, and let’s not forget The Rock
all brought back the memories of the last 20 years.
AJ Lee the new RAW GM… not too sure how I feel about
that. Why would Vinny Mac choose a #CrazyChick??? Where were the Divas on Monday Night?? Where
was Cody??
"Stone Cold" Steve Austin stated that he had knee surgery and could not participate. Not too sure if that is the whole story, but if that
is what he is saying then I guess that is what it is. BUT I am not buying it.
#HurtFeelings.
CM Punk….. Interesting heel turn or is it?? Will the fans
really boo him or will they side with him.
You know Punker can say that he has busted his butt while The Rock has
been back in Hollywood and how dare the Rock get a title match and try and take
his spot light at the Royal Rumble… Fans will still love Punk and adore The
Rock… Punk will not lose any steam, in fact he will only get better with new
and improved #PipeBombs.
Can you imagine the look on the Rock’s face when creative
asked him if he would sell a Punk clothesline?? Some of the Legends I spoke
with in St. Louis all said the same thing…. “Rocky is doing business”. The
Rock and CM Punk and John Cena program will definitely keep things interesting
until Wrestle Mania.

Three Hour Tour...
Three Hour Tour…..
With a new three hour RAW on the horizon, I have been
interested to see who the #PowersThatBe in the WWE decide to “push” and or “elevate”
into the mid to upper card. As I have
blogged about before the WWE needs new superstars. After watching Monday night I do not see that
happening soon. The WWE needs to do something to keep the fans interested over
the summer months.
With the part time status of Triple H, The Undertaker,
Brock Lesnar, and The Rock combined with the suspensions of Randy Orton and
Chris Jericho, added to the injuries of Mark Henry and Rey Mysterio, I was
certain we would see guys like Cody Rhodes, Brodus Clay, Tensai, and even ZachRyder given more TV time. (Before anyone says Ryback and Damien Sandow, I am
not talking about Smackdown which has been doing a good job of using their
younger talent before they get shipped to Monday nights.)
Instead we get Michael Cole in the Main Event of the WWE’s
Flagship Show. I do not get it at all. Do the fans really want to see Cena vs.
Cole?? Or was this to amuse certain people in the back?
Big Show is now the #1 heel in the company and rightfully
so, he did knock out John Cena twice and helped the evil Johnny Ace stay in
power as the WWE GM. But why must Show continue to be a one man wrecking
machine?? He needs a wing man…
Cue Tensai….
Let Johnny Ace build his Army. Let him create a
collection of destroyers. Why not let
Tensai become heel #2. Let Tensai be the guy that crushes Santino, Clay, Ryder,
Truth, and Kofi with Big Show. They could
rule the RAW brand. This way ONE guy is not killing your Tag Team Champions,
your US Champion, your Internet Champion, and the most kid friendly dancing
machine since Too Cool.
Johnny Ace, Tensai, and Show could rule RAW and
Smackdown. Then….. Brock Lesnar returns and joins the fun. Johnny Ace keeps
talking about bringing legitimacy back to the WWE. Well when you have Tensai,
Show, and Lesnar together I think that make a pretty awesome team of ass
kickers. Let that all start at the 1,000th RAW in St. Louis. Shake the WWE to it’s core.
Make it seem like nobody can stop them. Brock can take
out Triple H, Big Show and Tensai can destroy Cena and the IWC would be
buzzing. The 1,000th RAW would be a huge success.
Now the key is to keep Cena and Trips off TV for a little
while. Let them join forces eventually and build towards Summer Slam. Every
time Cena is alone they beat him down, every time Trips is cornered they beat
him down. Never let Cena and Trips work as a team until Summer Slam.
Now of course we do not want to see a three on two match
at Summer Slam. Cena and Trips would need a partner. HBK is retired,CM Punk is busy with DBD,
Sheamus is World Champion, so that leaves only one person left…… “The Most
Electrifying Man In Sports Entertainment” The Rock.
Summer Slam 2012….
Big Show, Tensai, and Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena, Triple H, and The
Rock. Imagine the buzz. Imagine the electricity. That is the money match. That
is a match I would pay to see. I do not care what the finish is, hell they
could even do a Bash At The Beach finish and have Cena play the role as Hulk
Hogan….. That is what the fan’s still want right?? John Cena heel turn.
I am sure some of you are wondering how that one match
can create new stars…. Simple. When you
have a program with Hunter, Cena, Rock, and Brock who are four of the most
recognizable names is the business it will create buzz, it will draw a rating,
people will come out and see what is happening. The intrigue will have the fans
invest into watching 180 minutes of sports entertainment on Monday night. While
the loyal fans will continue to watch you will also get new fans that want to
see what is so “trending”. These new fans may then gravitate to the younger
talent. They may feel a connection with Cody Rhodes, Zach Ryder, Damien Sandow,
Ryback, Sin Cara, etc etc…. New fans help create new buzz which in turn creates
new stars.
Let’s hope that the summer of 2012 creates buzz because
wrestling in general really needs it.

What is PWR Show?
What is the Pro WrestlingReport (PWR) ??? Is it a news show? Is
it a variety show? Is it a #DirtSheet? What is it that Dameon Nelson and DavidHerro really do??
PWR is a group of tremendously cool and sexy people (LOL) that have been life long wrestling fans that are just simply talking about wrestling. Yes we have fun. Yes we joke. Yes we even
have a few “opinions”. But at the end of the day we are just people that
enjoy some “rasslin”.
Anyone that listens to PWRMonday Meltdown or watches PWR Prime Time expecting to see us give away the “magic”
or the “behind the scenes” stuff will be disappointed. Dameon and I decided
long ago that PWR would be a show that creates discussion and creativity. We do
not feel it does our show or the wrestling business any good by ruining a surprise
by giving away a “Shocking development”. You can read about all that stuff on
other web sites.
The fact of the matter is
this…. Yes, we know what might happen. Yes, we know what direction some story lines are heading in. Yes.. Yes..Yes… But really, what good would it do to tell you
when it is going to happen as opposed to trying to explain the message as to
why it did happen. Do you like to know what Santa is going to give you on Halloween
or would you rather enjoy the moment and the surprise on Christmas morning. Speaking of Christmas, it is never too early to order your Officially Official PWR T-shirts.... Click here
The best times as a
wrestling fan for me, was when I never knew what was going to happen. Never knowing
who was going to show up “unexpectedly”. But I was always wondering “why?” and “how?”.
That is what PWR brings to the audience.
Remember when Warrior ran down and saved Hogan at WrestleMania? Remember when
Hogan shocked the world and joined Hall and Nash in the nWo? Saturday Night’s
Main event when it was taped three weeks earlier and we never knew?? How much
fun would all that have been of we knew weeks ahead of time?
Yes, I do look online and
read spoilers and rumors. But I feel that sometimes the rumors ruin a good
thing because it gives us “expectations”. Which for me, whenever you have
expectations your are usually assured disappointment.
Remember when it leaked
that Goldberg and Brock were both leaving after their WM20 match?? The crowd
boo’d them out of the building before they even locked up. How about the
infamous pictures of Jericho in an airport before his last re-debut… Why do we
need to ruin the surprise? I get it, it makes money, it gets page views, it
gets clicks, it gains followers. I am all about that. But sometimes it ruins a
good thing. I prefer to talk about it and be the “Monday Morning Quarterback”
as opposed to the guy that let the cat out of the bag.
By the way please stop over and "LIKE" our new and improved PWR Show Facebook page.
Now I do not want anyone
to think I am bashing the “insiders”, I am not. I am just explaining how the
PWR Show works. I admire the resiliency and dedication that some of these sites
have that get the breaking news. They obviously have great sources. Dameon and
I prefer to have friendships.
Now don’t get me wrong,
there have been plenty of times that Dameon (more than myself) has been way off
with our “analysis” but that is what makes the show fun. #DifferenceOfOpinion.PWR is about discussion.
What most of you do not
understand is that Dameon and I do actually have lives outside of PWR. Dameon is an executive director at Six Flags and I own and operate a CBRF. We do the
PWR show because we enjoy it, not because we have to, but because we want to.
This is our creative outlet. We get to be kids and fans for a couple hours a
week. If you cannot see that we are having fun then you obviously will never
understand.
#DidYouKnow that PWR produces up to #FIVE days of content each week. Monday Meltdown Radio, Wednesday PrimeTime TV, Thursday Sudden Impact Radio, Saturday PrimeTime TV, and a Sunday Post PPV Show Radio. Did I mention that all the content available is FREE? :)
So for the few “haters” out there that don’t appreciate
our #Shenanigans that we do, I guess you would have hated Prime Time Wrestling with Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan. But for all of our fun loving and loyal
#SuperFriends and Nelson Family members, thank you very much for all your
support and for having our backs when the #ToolBoxes have nothing but jealousy
and hate.
On behalf of everyone at the PWR Show offices, I would to
wish everyone of you a safe and #tremendous Memorial Day weekend. Enjoy,
create, and believe.
Enjoy these random #Shenanigan episodes or PWR Radio and TV....

#VictorGoesTheSpoils
BrookeHogan signs with TNA Impact Wrestling as a Knockouts consultant…. The IWC
Explodes.
It's "to the victor go thespoils." The spoils of victory are the extra bonuses, perks, and treasure
you get for winning.
"In the old days of war, the winning army pretty much got to loot the countryside and take what they wanted--wealth, harvest, women, whatever. Those would be the spoils of victory. In a relatively civilized setting, we use it more symbolically or metaphorically. The winner (victor, the victorious one, the one who gets the victory) gets whatever benefits go with the actual winning of the title, prize, award, office, or event. They could be formal or informal--that is, they could be a designated part of the prize (a gold medal, a contract with an athletic equipment manufacturer) or just tag along with it (celebrity status, free gifts, media attention, boost in their love life)."

I can
understand why the wrestling fan gets upset, but c’mon people…. It’s how
business works. Since the beginning of time we have always taken care of our
own. Whether it is corporate America or
a Mom and Pop business family takes care of family. That’s just the way world turns. Wrestling is
no different.
GoodOl’ boy Network…. Strong loyalty to family and friends
As
someone that has grown up in the family Real Estate business I understand. I
was given a spot in the family business probably before I was ready but I also
grew up in it and understood how the business works. I showed the doubters that
I could do it and did well. Brooke Hogan will probably do the same thing.
Looks
at some of the successful families…. TheTrumps, The Fords, The Waltons (Wal-Mart), The Disneys, The Gagnes (AWA), The Von Erichs (World Class), The Seligs (Brewers) ,
The Steinberenners (Yankees), The McMahons (WWE), and numerous other Fortune500 companies that have done extremely well and hired their children.
TNA Impact Wrestling is a family based wrestling company.... Read here
There
is nothing wrong with Brooke Hogan joining TNA, I am sure it will be a great
experience for her as well as a resume builder. Who knows how much she is even
going to be paid and it is none of our business.Maybe she has never taken a bump in the ring that does not mean she does not understand the business. Some of wrestling's greatest minds have never taken a "bump" and have gone on to make the product better... no I am not talking about Dameon Nelson.
How
many of us would take a job if offered by a relative or close friend?? Honest
answers… Most of us if not all of us would…
I
guess at the end of the day people just want to bash Hulk Hogan and DixieCarter, it seems like that has been the popular thing to do lately.

#SummerOfWrestling
WWE RAW goes three hours and TNA Impact Wrestling will be
LIVE throughout the summer… and people say that pro wrestling isn’t a draw
anymore.
Moments after Dixie Carter made the announcement that Impact
would be live every week this summer, the WWE Corporate offices had all WWE
talent tweet out that RAW would be going three hours permanently. Now everybody
asks… Is this good for business??
First let’s start with TNA Impact. I think this will be a huge step for
them. To go live keeps everything fresh
and the talent will elevate their game. They will not be the opportunity to re-tape
a blown match or segment. This is the real deal.
Guys like Hogan, Flair, Sting, The Dudleys, Anderson, Hardy,
and RVD will need to show the younger talent how to do business and what it
takes to have a successful LIVE show. This is where they earn those paychecks. They understand the “Going LIVE” process.
They know how to get the stuff in and how it should look. Talent like Aries, Robbie E, Bobby Roode,
Crimson, and the others that have not had the opportunity to go LIVE every week
will all be forced to raise their game. My only concern with TNA going LIVE is
the studio audience. If the group of people is predominately non wrestling fan
tourists, that have no investment into the show could be a nightmare for the
production crew. This is
a bold and expensive move by TNA but I am confident that with the people they
have in place to run the show now, that they will do well and be successful. I wish TNA Impact the best of luck and I believe the have the horses for this race.
Monday Night RAW is now going to be THREE hours…. Hmmm. Not
too sure how I feel about this. I personally think three hours is too much,
imagine a PPV week. That is over 10 hours of WWE programming.
I am hoping the WWE uses the extra hour to build new stars,
to re-boot the tag team division, and to give the audience more than just three
minute matches. I do not want to see multiple segments of Johnny Ace, CM Punk,
Brock Lesnar, and John Cena. Use this
time to further Dolph Ziggler, Wade Barrett, and the other hungry young lions.
Strengthen the Divas division, build tag teams, and even bring back a Piper’s
Pit type segment.
I am amazed by the amount of product that the WWE produces
each week. RAW, Smackdown, NXT, the
various YouTube shows, WWE movies, and weekend magazine style shows. What a
machine. The WWE truly is an entertainment
company and nobody does it better.
At the end of the day the wrestling fans win and both companies
hope to have strong ratings. But my
question is….. Do people really want to stay inside during the summer months to
watch TV??? The wrestling Gods seem to
think so. I guess we will all find out sooner than later. Don’t forget to tune
into PWR PrimeTime every week for more info and analysis regarding the
#SummerOfWrestling. God Bless the DVR.

John Cena HAD to beat Brock Lesnar
Okay #SuperFriends.... Lets not get to upset here. John Cena had to beat Brock Lesnar at Extreme Rules on PPV. I have seen the tweets and the RTs about how can Cena beat Brock?? How can the $5,000,000 man Brock Lesnar "job" to Cena?? SuperCena sucks....
Well... lemme tell you something Mean Gene....
Do you remember when Lesnar after his match with Bill Goldberg at Wrestle Mania 20? It was terrible. The match sucked, the way the did business sucked, and the crowd hated it. Lesnar left the WWE on rocky/ terrible terms. The WWE had big plans for Lesnar and he up and quit. Yes he quit. Now don't get me wrong he has every right to leave if he wants to because lets not forget that pro wrestlers are considered "Independent Contractors"....
So Lesnar leaves and he bashed the WWE on the way out to anyone that would listen. Then he gets involved in a multi million dollar lawsuit with the WWE. I really do not think that Vince McMahon and the powers that be in Stamford ever forgot about this.
Now as Lesnar leaves a new star is on the rise... John Cena. The company guy, the guy that does everything and more of what has been asked of him. Cena was doing non stop appearances, movies, tv shows, Make A Wish, all over the world promoting the WWE brand and making the "office" and himself a lot of money.
For the most part everyone that I have talked with that knows Cena says he does great business, that his work ethic is second to none and that Vince loves his Golden Goose.
So with all that being said.... Why would Vince have his most loyal employee lose to a guy that left him high and dry?? If you actually watched the match you would see that Brock's return match to WWE was the same as his debut in the UFC. He dominated dominated dominated his opponent until he made a mistake that cost him the match. That's what happened.... He dominated and battered Cena for 95% of the match only to get cocky and run into a Masterlock fist from John Cena. So if you look at it, Cena did not beat Brock, Brock beat Brock.
Believe me when I tell you that Lesnar will be back on track after RAW Tonight. He will admit he got careless and now that he did "business" last night and played ball I fully expect Lesnar to run all over the WWE until John Cena returns from whatever will keep him off of TV for a few months.
Remember..... It is "Sports Entertainment". Sit back and enjoy the show. The WWE always has a method to their madness.

The #SuperFriends PWRShow Draft.... Behind The Scenes
Hello #SuperFriends.... Sorry it has been so long since my last update. I want to thank everyone that joined us in Miami for the PWR Show #Shenanigans Weekend. It was absolutely tremendous. Special thanks to Kevin Nash, X-Pac, Billy Gunn, Diamond Dallas Page, Rhyno, Robbie E, Rob Terry, The Headbangers Mosh & Thrasher, and Rikishi for joining us on Friday night and also to Maria who joined us along with Rhyno for the Suite and Sexy event at WrestleMania on Sunday....
Time for the new wrestling season to start "if you will". It always seems that WrestleMania is the year end and the weeks after Mania is when new talent debuts and new story lines take form. With that being said Dameon Nelson and I had our 2nd Annual PWR Show Draft last week where we drafted a total of 12 stars from any wrestling company of our choosing. Now of course you can only score points if your talent participates on PPVs.
So for the last few days I have been getting your feedback.. the good, the bad, and the ridiculous. So I thought it might be fun to explain how I built my team and give you some insight. You might be shocked at some of the reasons.
Lets first start off with the Nelson Family. Dameon drafted the following......
1. The Miz (received from SuperFriends in wild card for Cody Rhodes)
2. Brock Lesnar
3. Daniel Bryan Danielson
4. Dolph Ziggler
5. Chris Jericho
6. Brodus Clay
7. The Big SHow
8. Mark Henry
9. Santino Marella
10. Randy Orton
11. Jeff Hardy
12. Austin Aries
As you can see Dameon drafted a solid team, the loss of his Golden Boy to me Cody Rhodes was a humendous hit for his team, but over all it is not terrible.
It is now time to go Draft pick by Draft pick for team #SuperFriends....
1. CM Punk... Now I am sure quite a few of you were shocked that I would take The Punker because so many of you think that I don't like the guy. The fact of the matter is that the WWE has invested so much time and money and merchandise into CM Punk that I had no choice but to pick him #1. The guy is a clean superstar. They don't have to worry about finding him passed out in the hotel lobby and the fans adore him. Did I mention he sells a ton of merchandise?? RAW was built around two guys... Superman and Batman aka Hogan and Savage aka Cena and Punk. So as you can see Punk was a safe bet and a lock for a tremendous year.
2. John Cena ... Is there really any need for an explanation. He is the Golden Goose for the WWE. The biggest star they have.
3. Sheamus... The Great White. This guy is the X factor in my draft. He has a rocket on his back right now but is also in a program with DBD, a guy that has gained a lot of steam in recent months. Sheamus has a great look, charismatic, good work ethic and obviously company guy. He kind of reminds a bit of Batista, a guy that can sell tickets and be the monster that wrestling needs. I expect him to be upper mid card for most of the year on all WWE PPVS.
4. Alberto Del Rio... This guy is rich, handsome, and powerful... #ButYouAlreadyKnewThat. ADR is the guy that the WWE can go to in a pinch. He is a good looking heel with a great gimmick that has always worked. Look at guys like The Million Dollar Man and JBL. The fans love to boo the pompous and wealthy. ADR can work and was a big star in Mexico. The WWE needs the international flavor and they have that in ADR. Some sort of gold is a given around his waist. He is too good not to.
5. Ryback.... Now here is a pick that I caught a ton of grief for. You say he is unproven, one dimensional, blah blah blah. The thing that most of you are missing is that the WWE has held this guy a spot for almost two years now. Yes he was hurt, but they still kept this spot open for him which tells me one thing.... They have a plan for him. Is it a roll of the dice? Absolutely, but the fact is they did not give his spot to someone else.
6. Cody Rhodes (in exchange for The Miz) This was the Funny Ha Ha moment in the draft. Some of you think I will kill his career. So now I have to see the #SaveCody in my time line. I look at it as fate. Cody and I were meant to win together. I fully expect Cody Rhodes to be the man in the WWE. The have slowly groomed him and prepared him. Everything I have heard about Cody has been positive and the son of the son of a plumber will have many opportunities to shine in the WWE in 2012. Thanks Dameon!!
7. Ken Anderson.... My #SuperFriend. When it comes to TNA you really have no idea which way the company will go, but knowing that TNA has signed Anderson to a contract extension has me excited about his future. Right now with Bobby Roode as the TNA Impact World Heavyweight Wrestling Champion they will need plenty of baby faces to work with and I think Anderson vs Roode has money written all over it.
8. Bobby Roode... The TNA Impact World Champion was there for me at pick number eight... How could I pass this up. Roode is the guy in TNA, he has had the most character development of any TNA star in the past couple years and I do not see that changing anytime soon. He is a believable champion and he can work. barring an injury I see Roode at the top of the TNA card for the rest of the year.
9. Lord Tensai.... This guy is a beast. The former A-Train is a big man that can go. Yes he has started out slow so far, but lets not forget he also has a win over John Cena. Remember Umaga?? Started out slow then went on to be the Bulldozer and had a great run. Tensai is a great worker, he had tremendous matches with Chris Benoit and has also had a fabulous career in Japan. He has not been in the WWE for several years so he will have to get re-acclimated to the WWE ring style. He will be a home run for Team SuperFriends, he just has to find his groove.
10. Kane... The Big Red Machine was actually chosen by Mike Wickett, not too sure if I would have picked Kane on my team but whats done is done. One of the things that really stood out to me during WrestleMania weekend was how much praise Kane received at the Hall of Fame. This may be his last year in the WWE so I would expect this team player to get one more solid run on his way out.
Supplemental picks...
Zach Ryder... Amazing how fast so many of you turned on this guy. Remember when I said he wasn't ready and I was the hater??? Well I think he has finally paid his dues in the eyes of the WWE office and should be on his way. Now I am not comparing Ryder to Triple H, but remember when Haitch was burried for over a year as punishment? He went on to become one of the biggest stars in the business. Sometimes the "Office" will do things to mess with a persons psyche to see how bad they want something. Ryder sells a lot of merchandise and the crowd generally adores him. Time for him to turn the corner.
Robbie E... I am not gonna lie, Robbie is a real #SuperFriend. Super good guy and he gets it. Yes he has the Jersey Shore gimmick but if you watch his ring work he is very solid. He is a true heel (did I just say that??)
Give him some time and I can see TNA using his real heat as a spring board to pushing him up the card and putting him in some solid programs. Just because he dropped the belt to Devon doesn't mean bigger things are not on the horizon for this kid. Sometimes you just gotta believe.
Well that is all that I got. I hope this helps some of you understand the methods to my madness. Like I said before #SuperHeroes need #SideKicks to be successful. I believe this team of #SuperFriends may actually be a better blend and more successful than the team I had last year. Of course only time will tell. Thanks for reading and I look forward to your feedback...
P.S. I heard that the Wizard World Toy and Comic Conventions are now in a partnership with the WWE and that the WWE now has final say as to what non WWE wrestling talent can participate and be a vendor at these conventions. I think Wizard is making a huge mistake and shame on the WWE if this is true. I have been attending Wizard World for many years and have helped other stars get booths in the past. Rather disappointing that I will not have that opportunity this year.
Please be sure to follow me on Twitter... @DavidHerro
